Do not ever use US Engine Production for your remanufactured 6.5 engine

My shop ordered a remanufactured 6.5 for my 93 Chevy 3500. The first motor lasted 4700 miles and then put a rod through the block - after a 3 month delay in getting a replacement motor "no labor cost reimbursement", the second motor didn't even last long enough for me to get out of Vegas when heading home. It thru the a rod in the same cylinder as the first engine in less than 40 miles.
When my shop demanded his money back and a replacement core - the warranty manager - Mr Ethan Levi - only wanted to give him about 25% of the original price of the reman. motor.
My advise is to avoid this outfit at all cost. They are shysters and shouldn't be in business.

Sorry to hear you went through this experience.
There are lots of threads here on US Engine Production warning members to stay far away due to bad products and customer services.

To any others out there please do a Community search before buying anything, using the function located up at the top of your screen and type in "US Engine Production" to read up on the horror stories from this bad company

My shop assured me that the injectors are not cylinder specific and if there was a bad injector it would not necessarily be in the same cylinder as the first engine. The injectors were brand new and top of the line from NAPA. View attachment 657334 View attachment 657334 View attachment 657335 View attachment 657336 View attachment 657336
I bought injectors from Napa maybe a year ago and returned them as I didn’t like the spray pattern(peeing sideways)etc when I checked them with a pop tester. They had ZCP097 on the injector bodies which I think are BWD brand injectors made in China.

Napa? You might want to have those injectors pop tested & checked for spray pattern leak down ect.

You also have to watch out for others that sell the this type of motor. I bought on from another company that said the motor that they do is run tested before it leaves their place. When the motor finally arrived the paper work said it was from US Engine Production. I looked the motor over and was kind of surprised that the timing chain sprocket and chain was dry as a bone. I would think if it was run tested you would see some kind of oil residue. I checked a lot of reviews about US Engines and could see that they didn't have to many good reviews. I have about 3000 miles on the engine so far. The only problem I have is a couple lifters are tapping. As much a I hate to I'm going to have to replace them. So you may won't to ask if they rebuild them themselves or get them from someone.

They said they had a remanufactured P400 for a little over $4000. When I called about it yesterday, they said they had already sold it but still had a P400 with a full drivetrain. It was priced at $38,000. It seemed a little salty even for a P400. I am not sure I believe they actually had one. If they had the remanned one, I probably would have bought it after they proved to me what it was. I would have had it sent straight to Twisted Steel Performance for a rebuild.

That would be my plane if action.

If I won the lottery, I'd send him the whole dang vehicle.

I can't think of anyone I would trust more

NAPA injectors suck, Ive bad Napa and Advance auto parts injectors come unscrewed during operation. Im talking about the 2 halves of the injector. Not it coming loose in the head

Seems all injectors suck anymore. I've heard of several reports of one out of 8 being a leaker or out of balance with the rest.

Never install injectors without testing and balancing.

They don't come from Germany anymore.

I called to talk to John Kennedy yesterday about a lift pump question and while I was on the phone, the subject went on to other things. He told me there were two he would trust to build a 6.5. TSP was one of them.

Having them rebuilt is cost effective, as well.

Just have to find a trustworthy rebuilder.
Since I would only install tested and balanced injectors. New injectors cost quite a bit more, by the time they're serviced.
If you're lucky and they're all in spec all it costs is the testing.
