I recently returned from a 3,500 mile trip pulling a 5,000 lb bumper pull trailer. I have about 21,000 miles on the truck now. During this trip, I noticed that my mileage had dropped somewhat from what I had previously experienced. Not sure this is the full reason but from reading other posts, I decided to clean the MAP sensor. I did that using CRC Mass Airflow Sensor cleaner. That is done and the truck is running. Time will tell if the mileage has returned to normal. I have also ordered the S&B Filters 82-1000 MAP Sensor Spacer Kit based on positive reviews. That has not been installed
My question is about how the actual MAP sensor would be disconnected from the harness if I were to replace the sensor someday. Removal of the wiring harness connector did not seem to be that apparent. In photo #1, the latch mechanism is fully pushed in. In photo #2 the latch is pulled out. Despite the position of the latch, the connector would not budge. What is the secret to removing this?
