What if a lift pump dies?

Trying to figure out which lift pump to get. Stock turbo/injectors on an LB7. If the lift pump were to die will the truck still run? Or does it depend on which brand of lift pump? If so which pump will allow the truck to still run? :whistle:

Kennedy Diesel is THE lift pump to go with.

The term flow through is used far too liberally. The flow through design of the Kennedy lift pump means ZERO added restriction. The others add a tremendous amount of restriction when stopped. They call them flow through because the engine still runs and the vehicle still drives, but what they don't say is that you are severely handicapped until the stalled pump is removed.


The key of course is to have a pump that does not quit. I wish I could say that mine never quit, but everything quits eventually.

Thankle you. I need to find a filter kit in my garage. I,got other from you, I think, several years back. Couldn't get my truck to prime with it so I gave up. Will take a picture or two and post them, see if it is/was something you carried. Perhaps with a lift pump I may be able to use it...

If I remember right it mounted on the a/c compressor. Can I use this in front of the Cat filter?


Nope not mine. I absolutely hate the second alternator location. 2 sets of line across the top of the engine and all the prop wash from the fan across the filter. Spill and it's on the engine. I put mine under the air box tray out of sight and clear drip path when changing.

AirDog will allow fuel to flow thru when its not running, I found mine not running in the beginning (wrong fuse tap location it would run intermittently), that's why I installed a little LED light.
When the Green LED light is on my LP is running, if the light is NOT on my LP is also NOT running.
The amber is for low pressure warning.
The great part about AirDog is they have a lifetime warranty on the pump motor. :thumb:
Mine ran just fine when the lift pump was not running, verified tested.

Titan 57 gallon tank pic.... please

Hi from Australia.

I'm wondering if anybody who has a 57 gallon Titan tank on their LML WITHOUT the extra shield cover, could possibly provide a pic of the underside of the tank please. Why?

Well, I've just ordered a Beans sump kit to go with the FASS 150 I have. However, my tank is fitted with a shield and I can't tell whether there is a nice flat base section around about the half way mark along the tank. I can feel that there is a channel across the tank about half way back and I would like to drill the hole just behind that channel. That way I can route the hose along the channel where it will be protected by the shield.

I'm planning on making a larger hole in the shield (6") and then use the proper hole saw that comes with the Beans kit, to drill the proper hole in the tank.

I'm just trying to avoid having to remove the straps that hold the tank, in order to remove the shield, in order to see what the bottom of the tank looks like.

If anybody can assist, that'd be fantastic. Thanks,

I've answered my own question basically...... I've cut out a rectangular section of the Titan shield roughly 12" x 18" which has exposed the whole section from the deep cross "gutter" back to the round indent where the OE fuel pick-up basket is located.

It looks like I'll be drill the 3" hole for the Beans in that round section as that is the flattest area along that part of the tank.

Now just got to wait for UPS and Australia Post to do their jobs and get the Beans to my door.

Why cut a hole in the floor of a perfectly good fuel tank? There is really no benefit to a sump whatsoever with the only exception being to fix a problem created by a poorly engineered bypass return type system.
