Good Morning Gentlemen,

just stumbled across this thread again, I dont have it setup for instant notification replies.

Blueshirt24, I have ordered two types of VCIM modules for my
2007 Silverado Classic. The First one was a 2009 Silverado VCIM,
but I could not install it, do to different wiring connectors on the
newer model trucks. ( will not work even if you try to change out the
connectors)

So after reading through numerous articles on the internet, I have
found that the 2009 TrailBlazer has the same wiring connectors as
the older model pickups.

I found a brand new one on Ebay, and ordered it.

And Yes, this module works with the 07 Silverado Classic. But the
OnStar still does not work, but I did not have a subscription anyways.

Hope this helps out

Bumping up this old thread with a question. Does anyone know the procedure for removing the VCIM out of a classic truck pre 07? I understand the location is behind the glove box but am unclear on how one would go about changing it. Does the dash have to be removed?

Thanks

Dieseladdict1on ..... I took the top of the dash off to get at the old VCIM, The new one
from the trailerblazer fits where the old one is, but the mounting screws are in different positions, so I ended up making a bracket to hold it in place.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I did find one write up on the upper dash removal on the "classic trucks" for anyone like myself that has not done it before: 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, Dash Cover Removal

i just bought a 2005 chevy trailblazer it is equipped with onstar. is there a bluetooth adapter that i can add to use the handsfree without having to have an onstar subscription?
