I finally have operational bluetooth. The NAV in my '07.5 was running an '07 Nav disc, which did not have the firmware to run bluetooth. Now that I've updated the Navdisc, the bluetooth works perfectly. The '08 and earlier Navdiscs did not have the firmware to run the bluetooth.

Whoo hooo......It works perfectly with the above 3 parts and NO dealer programming. The Onstar is still offline, but I don't have a subscription active there anyhow.

I just replaced my VCIM in my wifes 2008 Yukon XL Denali. Unfortunatly my experience was not problem free. Bluetooth doesn't work and now my parking lights, dash light and navigation unit will not shut off. I have to disconnect the battery to prevent battery drainage. My unit is brand new never installed (not a salvage yard pull etc.) Hopefully it just needs programed and Ill be set.

If any one has any advice/help please send it. Also what version of Navdisc did you use (part #/Version).

There was one on eBay a few weeks ago for $250.

that would be the one lol...

What happened if ya don't mind me asking. I was looking at buying that one.

The guy advertised he had a the right one but he actually didn't. I see a lot of vcims out of g6's and I thought I saw on a forum for trailblazers that the g6 model will work. Not sure though.

2009 TrailBlazer Module

I just wanted to update my findings.

After about a year of searching I finally found one.

I have a 2007 Silverado Classic with onstar, but no bluetooth.

I finally found a 2009 TrailBlazer module with bluetooth and put it in my
my truck, took about 5 mins to disconnect the old one and plug the new one in.

Everything on the bluetooth side of things works great.
The OnStar side doesnt work, but I knew that going into the re-placement

Now I just have to spend a day tearing out the old module and putting the new one back into its place.

Hope this helps the guys with the 2007 classics, and older models. The newer 2007 models and up take a different module, I have that module also, different wiring with the newer model truck.

Cheers

Hey, this could be great ! - Questions though....

Curtis,

I have 2006 and same as you, onstar but no bluetooth.

I don't care about onstar, but do want bluetooth so that I can pair my iphone to my radio and use the phone functions and the music functions.

If I get a 2009 TrailBlazer Module (which one btw?) and put it in my truck, then will both the phone and the music work, but onstar won't?

Again, I only care about using my iphone music and my iphone hands free via blue tooth. Could care less about onstar. (I have SIRI :))

Let me know, thanks!

Mike

Mike,

I am using the Samsung S3, on the bluetooth side everything works great!
I am not sure about pairing your phone to the radio. I dont do that, and wouldnt have a clue how to do that. But the radio works fine, and when you get a phone call the radio stops and the wringing of the phone comes through.

I can answer the phone, and also make calls by using the button on the steering wheel, its great.

module # is 22829371, you also need the bluetooth antennae.
antennae # is 15938939

hope this is helpful

I'm very curious to hear if this works. I'm looking for the same thing to do to my '07 classic LBZ. "GEMaffair" keep me posted on if you can listen to your music from iPhone threw Bluetooth. I also would like to keep all the steering controls.
Thanks
