thoses that had have had both whats the power/smoke/milage/driveibilty/throtle responce differance between edge/att. and the ppe 180 tune? thanks!!

They dont even compare. Ppe on that level ran like a raped ape, smoked liked crazy when you hammered down and milage went up about 2-3 mpg. That was with my lly though. You may hear different results from someone else. The edge was good but didnt compare to ppe as far as power and smoke.

LBZ but i went from EDGE to PPE and as Heavy said, NO COMPARISON. Actually mine smokes a lot less than with the edge. Shifts 100X better and lag is almost nill.

x3 no comparison. My smokes like a freight train. I love the PPE. No more lag.:ro)

I bought HeavyHD's PPE and I love it!!! Great power through the acceleration and smokes alot on the higher settings the only thing is I need a new tranny!!!!

Love my PPE, no comparison to the edge at all. Better throttle response, mileage, and waaaay more fun! Now just have to get the tranny done to use the rest of it.
Theres almost a trend in here...lol :)

with the ppe, you do have to upload the different tunes right?

Yes, but it is well worth it. The edge doesn't compare at all to the PPE.

I will back up those claims. EDGE sucks:p: compared to PPE

The 180 tune is so much more responsive and smooth than the Edge. This was even more prevailant on a manual trans vs an auto.

I would never recommend EDGE to anyone after owning one myself!

ppe is smoother., for me no diff in hand calc. milage, can black out an intersection if hammered with no boost

The Edge/Attitude worked perfectly for me. It was usually set on 3 but never higher. Then after a SCIV installation the Edge mostly stayed on setting 5 and felt pretty strong. That was 114hp/262tq more dyno'd at 4300' elevation. But when the transmission will hold it, more is never enough. A PPE hot+2 on higher settings made the truck a lot faster. I really couldn't tell much difference in shifts. But at this high 7,000' altitude, any tune over 4 would belch thick smoke like a steam locomotive. So the PPE came out after 2 days.....some people want lots of smoke but not me. Now with twins and EFI tune, there's minimal smoke and the truck really goes like hell.

all you have to say about the ppe is seamless power. no mid range power then fall on its face like my edge. its added power feels almost like a factory tune. very driveable

PPE vs. EDGE

I have tried them all at one time or another (handhelds) and PPE is by far the best. Once I dumped my EGR and added a lift pump it made it that much better. G

had the edge, then stacked the PPE on it, then got rid of the edge and replaced with the van aaken and stacked the ppe with it. The ppe is very good, and even better with the van aaken. I didnt like the edge.

Stock trans is pushin it on the 180 tune. My trans held it ok but my converter started to shutter pretty bad. The guy that bought my programmer from me limped his on the 180 so it probably depends on how fresh your trans is. It wont hold up for to long though, id invest in a scIII asap. I didnt have any problems with fuel either on the 180, ran like a top and never threw a 1093. Hope that helps a lil man Chris

just go ahead and get the tranny while your at it. better to have it now then need it later.
