as you can see in my sig i already have the cognito stuff. my steering has become noticeably looser over time and its pretty annoying. is a supersteer kit gonna help at all? is it better that what i already have on there? thanks

Hey dude, you have pretty much the same steering/suspension setup as me and (only much larger tires) and judging from your pictures, you use your truck like a truck.

Ive been looking for the ultimate fix for my truck also that actually works and won't cost a fortune, I would have to say that the EXACT setup is the way I'm going to go.

Check it out here http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=350874
When you look at the price of this kit compared to any other kit, its the best bang for the buck hands down.

Don't forget about the crappy ISS shaft and lower column bearing, checkout the zip tie mod, and there is supposedly a new GM ISS shaft part number that fixes the problem. Hope this helps.

Love the truck BTW.

I just got mine from NorCal truck and installed it last week. Very nice unit. Much beefier than the stock bellcrank with bigger bearings and much tighter fit in the bracketry. It also comes with better fasteners than the factory stuff. When i took the stocker out I was surprised to see that my factory bellcrank was actually in good shape, BUT LOOSE!!

Also, On my truck I think welding the bracket up was more important than the bellcrank assembly, but both are a good idea. I made my own gusset for my duramax and I am about to weld up the one that came with my cognito supersteer kit on our H2 when I am in there fixing the idler and pitman. The factory brackets are thinner than 1/8" and are easy to bend. Mine was bent slightly, probably from 4wd launching on the sand....

I don't have it yet, but I'm going to get it. I really think its the solution, and all the GM truck guys I know locally are gonna be getting it.

I think its about 650bux Canadian. If you combine this kit with the new ISS shaft and Bearing, and some MOOD HD tire-rod ends/pit-man/idler, and the Cognito or Supersteer Idler w/brace, you should have super beefy tight steering that will last near the life of the truck, at-least that's what I think/am going to do.

Kinda sucks we have to spend that much to make it right, but the stock stuff is JUNK, and the direct replacement stuff is JUNK, so its either Patch it or Fix it. I personally don't mind spending money improving steering.

There really is no comparison between the oem idler and the SS idler, the SS is HUGE mine also came with a brace that I welded to the frame for extra support. I dont see how you can go wrong with a SS idler.

crap yall are throwing out names ive never heard of. i just want the best bang for buck when it comes to cleaning up slopping steering. mines getting progressively worse and when im on the highway i have to keep the wheel turned a little left to keep in a straight line. the tires are brand new so they dont need to be rotated and they were balanced before put on.

how much are you thinking your gonna spend total on all that stuff?

so what exactly is this supersteer kit? i thought it was a beefy unit that replaced the stock stuff and all the moving parts were internal or something

The Supersteer kit is only the idler pivot on the passenger side of the truck.

I'm going to budget $1300 CDN for all those parts, and will be doing all the work myself.
