Today I pulled the BurbZilla sender. It was a pain - the goo used to seal it was dried out like old caulk. Had to tap it quite hard, once I figured out where. PITA to clean up without getting the mess inside the sender hole.
The sender actually looks good on the inside despite the corroded and busted off outside in/out fuel connectors - sock dirty and slimy, but not worse than expected. Bottom of tank has little puddles of liquid and some dirt, but pretty clean overall.
What surprised me was that there was no sender tray in the tank to baffle the float. Not even pieces of a broken one or any washers used to connect the tray on the studs.
A question for those who had the sender out - would the stock tray fit through the tank sender opening? One of the reasons I am in there is because the fuel level needle is bouncing and I'd rather eliminate that before I seal it up.
Thanks.
