I searched and found a decade old post about PowerStop brakes, and it was positive.
My 2003 has 125K miles and the rears are a few MM away from being due. I was thinking of the PowerStop kit that has rotors and pads, and doing all four corners.

Any feedback on their products? Should I do calipers too? They offer an entire kit with 4 rotors, all the pads and 4 calipers (red powdercoated) for around $780 at Summit Racing. Local GM dealer quoted me $850 just for the rear 2 rotors and pads.

Here is the entire kit.

I put some powerstop rotors on the front of my 98 CC 4x4 about 3 months ago so I can't speak to longevity - but they work nice for me.

They didnt have calipers had to go with stock remans, thats just the way it is with 98's.

I'd put them on my 2002 CC 4x4 - I just like the potential cooling that drilled and slotted rotors would give..seems like a no brainer..but I'm not a brake mechanic either!

FWIW , Drilled rotors are for race cars , not HD trucks , unless you don't tow and don't run a lot of miles your best with OEM replacements, 4 dually's and 1 million miles of towing gave me these answers but of course its up to you how you spend your money.

From everything Ive read, they are good pieces..but watch for any cracking that might develop between the holes.

I agree with carhauler that they are really for trucks that primarily see the track. I bought a set of them front and back from RockAuto for the little truck. If I ever get it finished, we'll see how they work from 120+mph. :hehe:

I would recommend staying away from drilled rotors on an everyday driver or tow rig. Dimpled is ok. Ive Read about many problems with rotors cracking between the holes.

Im extremely happy with the stoppping power of my EBC yellowstuff pads on factory turned rotors besides the fact they dust like crazy and seem to squeal slightly and have less stopping power when cold. I changed the pads around 115k miles and didnt bother relplacing the calipers because the pistons retracted smoothly into their bores when i pressed them back in.

I installed a set of these about a year ago and they seem to work very well. I have no negatives to report at this time.

I have that set of rotors on my truck. After 3 yrs and about 50 k miles they are holding up better than anything else I have used on this truck (including OEM and NAPA premiums)
I bought them more for the plating and rust protection, all things being equal I don't really care about the drilled and slotted.

I went through several cheap rotors with warranties and they still warped.

Then I put on the PowerStop rotors and havent had a problem since. I can't remember exactly when I installed them but it's been roughly 4 years which is about 145,000 miles. Still no problems and super smooth stops.

Bumping an old thread, anybody have any updates to report ? I'm ready to replace my original brakes at 120k miles considering the Powerstop set up over OEM.

Appreciate any feedback

Powerstop Brand Slotted & Drilled Rotors Installed

Just got done installing a Set of Powerstop rotors & pads that I bought from RockAuto. Took me a looooong time to complete because I wanted to make sure it was completed correctly. Once finished, i took it for a test drive. Stops alot quicker but as I am rolling, I can hear a rubbing sound, not sure which wheel its coming from. Question: When first driving after installing the Powerstop brand slotted & drilled rotors & new pads........is it common to hear this rubbing sound until they break in or adjust? :confuzeld
