I have been wondering the same. Have you seen the painted bumpers on the new 2011 Denali HD's?!! They look awesome! Can you just sand down and paint the chrome bumpers?

 

Best bet would be to take them to a shop and pay around $150 to get em painted. Just did mine, looks way better painted than chrome. Paint code is in the glove box. Ill post pics up soon.

 

I wish they had them. I'm wanting to get mine, possibly all of the chrome on the front end of my truck painted in near future.

 

It'll be way cheaper to just get a body shop to paint 'em for you.

 

I have asked 2 of the local body shops about painting the front and rear bumpers and they said that they could do it but they said that it would chip after a couple months because its chrome. Anybody had their chrome bumpers painted and have some feed back?

 

Plenty of people have........you either have to sand it down or sand-blast it, if you want it to last a long time.

 

What kind of cost did you get quoted to do the whole front end??

 

Yea I am curious to see what the cost is as well. Looks like I will probably end up going that route and just have the body shop sand blast all the chrome and then paint it

 

I just got a quote for the same thing but my buddy owns the shop so i'm getting a little of a discount. He said between 2-300 to get front and rear bumper powdercoated and then grille/bumper caps painted black. Can't wait to get it done

 

Hmmm... So you are gonna be getting the bumpers powder coated and then paint over top of them? $300 sounds like a great deal for the front and rear bumper!!

 

no....I'm getting the steel bumpers powdercoated and the plastic (grille and caps) painted since they wont hold up to the heat of powdercoating. wish I could just get everything done.
