If it smells bad, there is oil vapor to be condensed out

So the PCV never needed to be re-routed then, is that what youre saying?
Nope, just saying my reroute has never dripped a drop. It did need re-routing though as the IC coupler close to the turbo was leeching oil.

I'm looking for ideas on where to mount a catch can for a rerouted PCV. This is the catch can I have on the way.

Any ideas or has anyone installed one previously?

I've been running my PCV reroute for about 3 months now and the end of my hose comes out in front of the passenger side front-most body mount, just behind the bottom of the inner fender. I don't have any noticeable spots in the driveway but the few drips I get while driving make a mess under the truck and I don't like it. I know there are countless threads that say a catch can is not needed, I don't care, I want one so let's not turn this into another debate. I'm simply looking for ideas for a clean mounting location that will be easily drained when needed, not matter how rarely that is.
I have the hose hanging under the truck, adds to the under coating:D In the northeast they start rusting before they leave the lot.

Opened the drain on the catch can tonight and nothing. I will keep an eye on it. Maybe it will never catch anything but i still feel better about it and it has had no ill effects. In my opinion running just an open hose is just hack.

It will catch some oil. How much depends on how hard you work your truck.

Used to work it harder, now it just gets a light workout about every other weekend.

Not really sure I'd call it a hack unless your a better business person then the companies that sell the kits and can make a better one...I made my own out of stuff I picked up at local business but it's the same as the professionals kit but I guess you know more then the rest of us IMO

Update to this thread. The original tank didn't work. The vapor just flwoed through it and the the underside of the cab became covered in black film and oil spots still showed up on the driveway.

I replaced it with a Moroso 85467 catch can that has an internal baffle and media inside it (like really heavy steep wool) along with a better breather on top.

So far this is keeping the vapor and condensed oil inside the tank and not under the truck.
