I’ve got a 2008 Silverado 2500HD LTZ Duramax with 95k miles, the truck drove fine to a store, I went in for about 40 mins came out and started the truck, it’s started for a good two seconds then died, and wouldn’t start back up, the dash said 0% fuel filter life remaining, so I pulled the fuel filter which looks brand new, no dirt on it or anything (keep in mind I bought the truck 4 days before this) the fuel filter was just under full, it wasn’t filled all the way up. We tried priming the truck, and no fuel would pull to the fuel filter, Ive been told it could be a sending unit? But they don’t have In tank fuel pumps? Any ideas?

Pretty common issue. Several causes. Filter head losing prime as mentioned, collapsed rubber fuel line when hot restricting flow, cp3 getting weak etc. In my case it said change filter when hot and towing on a grade. Truck had about 90000 mi. I added a fass 150 lift pump to provide positive fuel pressure to the cp3 and solved it with bonus of adding extra filtration. If the truck was cold when it coded start with filter head rebuild or replace. You did open the bleeder screw when priming?
