First off posting for a friend with a 2005 duramax and about 150K on it.

He said trucks starts up in the morning and runs just fine. UNITLL he drives down the highway for a bit and truck is nice and warm and comes to a stop. Then presses the throttle to take off and no increase in RPMs and truck barely walks forward like it would at a complete idle. Says city driving he never has an issues always when he's been cruising the highway for a little amount of time. It is not throwing codes when it does it but he said he notices some white smoke when he's giving it throttle to get out of intersection but still at a crawl.

Then after a short time of crawling thru the intersection or where ever he is it finally just picks up RPM and takes off like there was never an issue. I don't know LLY's very well just a lot of bad injector harness issues.

ANY GOT IDEAS????? Need answers soon please before he gives up and dumps it at the dealer and they throw part at it shotgun style and he pays too much.

You maybe dealing with the fact that some codes will reset when you shut it down, then plug in the reader, and turn the key on to read it.

You may need a reader that can read the historical codes, and the freeze frame data that goes with the historical code. Historical codes may not set a CEL, or set it only while the code is in current status. A key cycle makes many codes historical.

Let us know.

Unfortunately I don't have the tools to read the history codes either does my friend. So right now im just trying to diagnose off what hes telling me. I wish I had more info to go off of I was just hoping it was a common problem maybe and someone would recognize it right away. guess I got another one of those tricky ones to deal with.
