Losing Coolant

At 10 months old and 26K miles I got a low coolant warning. I took it in and the dealer said it was the TSB about the air not being purged from the factory. They topped it off and sent me on my way. I marked the tank with a sharpie at cold level at that time. 6 months later I noticed the coolant level has dropped 2"-3", so I took it back in. Dealer said they pressure tested it overnight and there was no drop (no leak). My only thought is if they hooked up the pressure testing device to the top of the reservoir by removing the top cap then maybe my issue is my cap. (Side note...there is also a cap on the side of the tank I just found out about).

Thoughts???

This is my 3rd DMax and the previous 2 did not have coolant issues. My '13 did develop a pin hole in the lower octopus hose, but finally dripped which made it easy to find. Other than that neither ever lost any.

Rvn4me thanks for the pdf. I did search the forum, but mostly found info on bad sensors. Honestly, I did not google it which is funny b/c that is where I usually start before coming over to the forum to search! lol

It is back in the shop with 89K miles getting checked again for a leak...and getting the overflow tank replaced again since the sensor got exposed air. New dealer was not able a leak which I am not surprised

QUESTION: My leak is small, so I am wondering if it is it safe to put something like Bar's Leak in the L5P?

I'll ask when I pick it up this afternoon.

ANSWER: Dealer did not recommend something like Bar's Leak due to possible "sealing" of small passages that don't need to be "fixed".
