lifter knock

I didn't want to step on another thread...
Lifter knocks in a 6.2 are rarely lifter knocks. Suggestions were made about a bent/bad rods, crank bearings etc.
Couldn't a "lifter knock" be a drippy injector or two?
I had a hard knock in my 6.2 when I got it, but it sounded high in the engine (like the head) and it wasn't a tick. I ran it to operating temp. without any other issues, and it didn't change. I got a couple of injectors and replaced them, and the knock went away. Note; the engine hadn't run in a couple of years.
Did I just get lucky?
Or do you guys think it was coincidence and something else loosened up at the same time making me think it was the injectors?

ya, could be a bad injector dumping fuel. could also be those nylon valve train retainers broken loose and push rod not being where its supposed to be. if it sat, could be a lifter that didn't want to operate properly and finally did
