kerosene?

I just noticed that kerosene is priced a quarter/gallon cheaper than diesel. I guess they mix kerosene with diesel in the winter to prevent gelling. Are there problems with running straight kerosene? ...maybe a mix?

I am using 50/50 Jet-A and diesel and just treating it big time.

really? I had just noticed today at our local station kerosene was like 5 cents MORE than diesel... I was confused to say the least...

i would like to learn more about this because someone just gave me 250 gallons of kerosene with no dye in it, looks just like diesel and no legal risks of using it. I added a full quart of Marvel mystery oil to a 55 gallon drum and filtered it, but so far am afraid to add more than 5 gallons to a 35 gallon tank. Have head too many differing opinions about it.

Anyone else have something to say about how much you could safely run, and how much of what additive to use?

thanks,
Paul

At are airport the FBO who services the Airlines just pumps Jet-A into their Diesel trucks that they fuel the aircraft with. I would add 2 oz of 2 cyle oil per gallon of Kerosene and not burn more than 50/50 mix.

Funny 16Ga.. thats what I do too! And I double treat with Powerservice silver.
I also cannot stress enough to filter the stuff you pump out of the drums and to have a frame mounted filter.
