On the LML, Id bet that 17K price tag was to replace the entire fuel system when the CP4 blows.

$3K to do LB7 injectors is still about the average cost. I plan to spend a little more and replace with SAC-style injectors and appropriate tuning when the time comes.

Hey Bac, long time since I have been on here, but tell me about those SAC-style injectors.

Are they something new and improved for the LB7?

Hey Tolli! How've you been?

Remember the old "Bosch Motorsport" nozzles that Exergy used to sell for an arm and a leg and they were next to impossible to find elsewhere? Thats them. They are patterned after the LLY-up injector nozzles, where the pintle seals against a small chamber above the actual nozzle instead of sealing against the nozzle itself. Its supposedly a much better design in that the sealing surface can "adjust" to the pintle as it wears, so you get longer life out of the injectors. The old design cant adjust to wear, so when the pintle wears in enough, the nozzles start to leak.
The bonus is that due to this design, they start with a larger output than the old style. Thats the "45" part. They are 45% larger. This does require tuning changes, though. The changes are similar to base LLY tuning, both in pilot and main injection amounts and timing. Most tuners are now aware of the tables that need to be adjusted, you just have to inform them you're using SACs now so they know.

Those two threads pretty much sum up everything we know about them so far. Brent @ LDS knows a ton about them if you have more questions.

I actually have a complete set of those nozzles in my parts horde, but those are reserved for when I tear into the engine for the little truck someday down the road.
