Ok guys kinda new with the duramaxs. Im a cummins guy here to see how good efi live is. Ive seen it in diesel power magazine and it looks like all the duramaxs with big power are running with it. I think if cummins doesnt get a tune like this were gonna be introuble...:( Im not here to start problems or anything just seeing.

It is a nifty tool. But you need to know how to use it as well. There is also a ton of time and money involved in getting a high HP tune. Most of the fastest duramax trucks dont use EFI live though but TTS tuning instead ;) EFI live is a fun and nifty tool though  Its just not the end all in performance ;)

Your creating your own Programmer/ Program..EFI gives you open access to the ECM of the Duramax..( And Others) Where it'll end?? Know one knows..But I guarantee you TTS will not be on Top when the Smoke Settle's;)

EFI live is a tool that lets you tweak tables in your ECM and do a lil bit of playing in the TCM. They keep adding more tables and improving things as time goes on. EFI live also gives you just what they have opened up, you dont have open access to the ECM ;)

Garantee? Them are strong words ;) The fact remains that the quickest trucks in the country could get thier tunes written from anyone for free I'm sure and they chose to use TTS. EFI live is a tool, the person using the tool is what makes the difference. The tuner is what makes the difference. And as tuners go no one has proven to me or anyone to make a truck run harder than TTS when they actually sits down with it. If he wasnt the best the fastest trucks wouldnt be using him. I'm sure this will encur the rath of many sides and have me branded as an "EFI live hater" and a cheerleader for TTS  EFI live is great, it lets you make your own tune. This is rewarding and can also be very fun! But its a tool, its up to the tuner to know what to do.

When someone comes along that proves to tune better then I will pay respect to them. Till then TTS is the benchmark IMO.

What does it do exactly.....? Like how does it work..?
You can go to www.efilive.com and down load the software for free.:) Then go to tune repository on this site down load some tunes both stock and mod.

As fars as who is the fastest. TTS is right the fastest but with drugs. EFILive is the fastest on #2 only. TTS is not far behind with #2 only. It comes down to do you want to make the changes yourself or do you want to keep sending your ecm back and forth.

EFILive is only going to be as good as the person using it/tuning it. The data logging capability is what raises it so high. Not only can you tweak many many paramaters and tables, you can see the end results of your labor.

It takes time to understand and learn, but the rewards I feel are worth it.

Just kidding, EFI live allows more flexibility than anything I have ever seen on the market. Throw your edge and banks stuff away, EFI can beat it. However, it's only as good as you are. EFI's biggest challenge is providing a product to a customer base that will only continue to become more incompetent as the base numbers grow. You won't be too successful if you want to plug and play, you've got to know what you're doing, which isn't at all impossible. All it takes is a little time commitment to study how things work and patience in tuning. Dielsel place provides a nice repository to steal/learn from. That's where I learned my stuff.

EFI Live on Duramax-Y Not on Cummins

That Crazy Larry on Cummins runs hard lots of nice running Dodges on sled pulls. Where is the problem of no EFI live on Cummins with that Kennedy shop that is doing all these Duramax setups? Is the Cummins ECM too hard to get into and make your custom tunes like the Duramax subjects here ? Next question is the same but is on the Powerstrokers. Can't EFI be done on those too? Just wanted to know for my own knowledge as I have not see much else EFI for the other motorheads running Cummins and Strokers. Thanks whoever has an answer on this from inside the race world.

SCT is now offering software for GM vehicles and the last report I was given, they were working on tuning the Duramax. If the Duramax software is anyting like that of the Powerstroke software, it's a joke in my own opinion compared to EFI.

I'm continually pestering EFILive to develop Dodge Cummins support. I believe the Common Rail trucks are the wave of the future, and the CR Cummins has a lot of potential.

Until Ford goes Common Rail, their injection system is too much a limiting factor for the hobbiest racer, which is where the bulk of sales are for custom tuning tools.

You need to qualify your statement with LB7. EFILive supports all Duramaxes (LBZ in Beta).

To optimize custom setups, you need to custom tune your truck at the dyno or at the track, and right now, that means EFILive.

Cummins tuning from EFI would be AWESOME!!:ro)

dosnt mean just EFI live ;) MANY people are running stuff that others have tuned for them. Actually MOST of the fast guys are running stuff written by someone else that has either done it via mail or actually sat in the truck. If someone else is tuning your truck and your paying for it it dosnt matter what media they use IMO. Its not an EFI live tune its a Steve or a Tony or a Bob or a......you get the point.

I said fastest stuff. That was my qualification. The Timers dont care what your glove box sticker codes say ;) well they kinda do.....seems the LB7 RPO is good for a slight reduction apples to apples ):h

You can buy a Ford with common rail fuel injection now, a 2008 Super Duty with the Piezo injection.

2006 proved that LLY tuning is right up there with LB7.
2007 will prove that LLY's are just plain meaner.

PS - I wrote my own stuff for Casper. HONEST!!! ;)
Wendy is not looking too bad either.
Heck Blue runs pretty good even.

I will admit, the tuning I write is done with the help of a "few" folk. Testers, troubleshooters, and some are just darn good tuners in their own right. I won't name them, but they know who they are, and once again I thank them for their help and support. And of course, the biggest thanks out to the whole gang at EFILive.

No matter how good a tuner is, without help from the racers, enthusiasts, and software developers, they are flying blind.

TTS Extreme is a proven winner at the track and dynos, nobody can deny that. The difference is with EFILive anybody has the opportunity to tune, from a small MPG gain, to the ever growing number of tunes created using EFILive that are making a name for themselves at pulling and drag racing events.
My prediction is 2007 will be the year of the LBZ, it's already starting to show some real potential :naughty:

Cheers,
Ross
