I've put in a '95 6.5 in my '93 chev with 207K on it. It was a used 6.5 non turbo. it had so 50K on it as a guess... Just seized and found all the mains were scored. It has always had low oil pressure.. going back together and was wondering about HV oil pumps? Any suggestions.
Thanks, John

So did you have the crank ground and install new bearings? When you say it was seized, -did it stick a piston?

If the bearing and rod side-clearances are correct, using a HV pump is unnecessary, -and a waste of power (in my opinion).

Stock pump: Melling M-55
HV Pump: Melling M-55HV

the bigger pump will mask some other problems and suck hp but for me knowing that theres plenty of oil flow and volume traveling across the bearings is peace of mind to me. ( also if your going to be building hp as much as possible its a good upgrade to have)
