Anyone do an engine swap in a class A rv to a duramax?

Well at least 89 of us have looked at your post and I know that at least 89 of us have never heard of anyone doing the swap.

However, it should be doable if you get all the computer goodies to run the Dmax hooked up.

I know there is a guy on the board here that is trying to put them in Air boats for use in Florida, so it can't be too tough.

Seems kind of heavy for an air boat?

Yea, I know. They must make some big Honking air boats down there...

I wouldn't bother with the expense of putting max into a front engine gas chassis. Pusher is the way to go, but you aint gonna find any gas pushers until next year I think when freightliner is supposed to release a gas pusher chassis for builders. My .02.

Seen an ad for 2006 Tiffin Motorhomes (Allegro Bay) in this Months Trailer Life built on a Freightliner Chassis. It will have a 300hp 5.9Cummins front engine, Allison 5 speed in 34 to 38 ft length motorhomes. Said it would be slightly higher than the gas fueled Allegro Bay, which starts at $116,500. Maybe this is the start, they have been using the Duramax in Class C.
