I am helping my friend with his 1999 Chevy Suburban. The previous owner hacked the dashboard very badly when he installed his custom stereo system. He even cut some of the metal support brackets for the dash to mount subs under the dash! Anyhow, we found a complete dash from a 1998 Tahoe that is the same color as his interior, but we have a problem... the VIN plates. I honestly can say that I have never done anything like this before. So the question is, how can I change the VIN plate over from his beat up dash to the good one without it looking like it has been tampered with? It is riveted in place, and I assume they are special rivets made from unobtanium.
