What software and tools are recommended for programming and buring tunes to an obd2 computer I want to start tuning my truck myself but am not sure what tools to use.

Quadstar is experimenting but there is none available as of right now.
You can have a reflashed ECM or you can have an ECM with multiple setup with a switch.

There's one software package available. Sold at a premium to dealers who exclusively do tuning. It's not geared toward individual users.

The reason I'm asking is my truck is an obd2 truck with a 5068 pump I love the way it drives and want a custom tune but the pump limits my options, I was planning on buying a software that allows me to set the timing so I know I'll be spending a lot, and I don't mind spending my time doing this.

Remember a tune will only accomplish so much..
The 6.5L platform was not designed to be anything of a powerhouse.
The Tune with intake and exhaust mods are really about it for the engine and the most HP you'll see is about 300, if you are lucky:HiHi:
