All trucks come with the remote start built in, just needs to be enabled in the programiming and new key fobs programed if I was explained it properly at the dealer. Cost is around $400 lol but that is just for the fobs, programing of the fobs and the computer flash.

Remote start wasn't a factory option on WT model. (but keyless entry was)

On LT it was optional.

LTZ and HC it's standard.


I'd have thought that it it was just a programming change that they would let people have it / pay for it on a factory order.

Interested to hear what the dealer says.


Perhaps the dealers can only add it to the trims that it was optional on from the factory -- the LT and the SLE.

 

That is very possible and make sense. I have an SLE and what I was told when I enquired at my dealer. Where I am from we would be considered a small dealer compared to what you guys are used to, I am talking selling 20HD trucks a year, never seen a base model on their lot, most are LTZ and Denali and I never considered that there are other models that may not have it.

 

IIRC, you need the correct keyless entry RPO to add oem remote start.
I had the dealer install the OEM remote start on every fleet WT trim truck here, starting with the '09 model year.
Just put a '19 Sierra 2500 WT into the fleet last year, and it too had an OEM remote start programmed (added) by my dealer.

 

Still havnt contacted the Chev dealer yet,but I can buy a OEM remote start on Ebay,but after I installed it I would still have to take it to a GM dealer to get it programmed.I also see a pre programmed remote for sale by MPC(MyPushCart),but the description says it only works on gas models while the application chart says it also works on diesel models,emailed MPC but have not gotten a response.Has anyone ever dealt with MPC?
