I am working on a 08 LMM that has oil dripping out in the exhaust exit end(could be raw fuel but more thicker liquid). It has downpipe, dpf delete 5 inch exhaust, egr delete, efi live. Smells kinda like tranny fluid but it is not coming from tranny fluid. It could be raw unburned fuel or oil but could not say for sure. Color from the liquid swabbed from exhaust exit end on a white towel paper showed a goldish tint color. Which is why I ruled out the tranny red color fluid. Tranny fluid is full mark level. Engine oil mark definiley is down the half way mark between add and full. No leaks up front. Runs smoothly, no codes. Engine oil fill cap is dry--no blow by. I was told that a code popped up momentarily for low boost that went away quickly and turbo seems to run okay. All inspection points to the only thing it is losing...engine oil which obviously is going out the exhaust. I can verify that nothing is filling the crankcase nor any fuel in the crankcase. Oil changed 600ish miles ago. The Efi live, Egr Delete, DPf delete exhaust, downpipe was all done 600 miles ago also.

What am I dealing with? My thought is the turbo is leaking oil into the exhaust...am I right?

2008 LMM

Your last picture looks more like diesel on paper the way it spreads out. Is the first two pictures liquid thick like oil or thinner? Has your engine been running cold or short trips? That would be diesel slobbering then??? If there is oily film on your fingers when you feel it , then it might be oil. Turbo's are expensive .

That's what I thought too regarding the last picture. But still super odd. I actually swabbed out the tailend exhaust the width on towel you see and what you see is the dried up version with very little spread out. Yes, that was at warm up iding in umm 0 degree weather with minus wind chill within 20 minutes. The first two pictures is liquid thick like oilish feel, but not thick like real oil. Which leads me to think it must actually be unburned raw fuel. The engine oil is already black, if that helps. If its unburned raw fuel, then what could be the problem?

I don't live in your kind of cold enviroment to know other than what I've read.
What weight oil are you using?
Is your fuel Diesel #1 ?
Are you using any fuel additives to help resist jelling?
Maybe something like Diesel Kleen in the white bottle might help if your not using anything.

5-40 synthetic oil. My friend told me he has a wintermaster blend in the tank. He did say he used Power Service on the last tank that did not have the wintermaster at the pumps.

I will suggest using the Diesel Kleen with every tank with diesel 1 or
diesel 2

You can't do much better on the oil, maybe try to use the Power Service winter blend in the white bottle and see what happens.
You might consider doing this and take a little drive and see if this will clear up.
