I have a 2020 International and running Stazworks 20 x 10 rims and goodyear tires. I am having a problem crusing at 65 to 80 mph and getting the shakes. Their is balance beads in the tires from Stazworks but I am wondering if I should get them balanced or add more beads? Any help would be great.

There's a guy on Youtube / Instagram called 'the lost box' who has those same tires, and has had issues balancing them only to realize they are actually not round. He had to lathe them down to be perfectly round, and that solved the 'balancing' issues. I wonder if that's what you're experiencing?

Also, how are those wheels / tires fitting for you? Did you need to modify the front suspension / steering to fit?
I'm looking at those same wheels from stazworks for my build. What width wheel did you get?

I spoke with Craig Frost (Hutchinson Commercial Market Manager) at the King of the Hammers race a few weeks ago, and he said that have 20 inch two-piece rims with our 8x275mm pattern. With or without interior beadlocks. His number is 609-649-9866 or cfrost@hutchinsoninc.com.
Thank you for the reference - I reached out to Craig, and here are the wheels they have available.
Shown in the photo of the Chevy with the crane.

Part Number WA2469
Cost ~$1,500 for 5x wheel + ~$450 for set of beadlocks
If a group order is made, it can bring down the price down to $1150 per set of 5 wheels.
Details 7,830lbs rating per wheel
11" wide, 2-piece, forged aluminum
Powder Coat Colors matte black, sparkle silver, dark gray
Lead Time 10-14weeks

Please LMK if there's enough interest in a group order.
My overall gvwr will likely be around 14K, so these are way over for my needs, and hopefully the 11" width is okay for clearances - this is looking like a good 20" wheel option without being a fully custom build.

i would be in for at least one set of 5

thx

"Often backspacing and wheel offset can be confused for the same thing, but in fact, they are very different. The difference can be explained quite simply: the wheel offset is the distance between the mounting surface and the center of the wheel, whereas the wheel backspacing is the remaining distance from the mounting surface to the back of the wheel, so to calculate the backspacing you just add the rim offset and half the wheel width."

so offset is 3.15" according to pdf. width is 11" so 5.5" + 3.15" = 8.65" offset.

I believe the theory is you run the wheels with the short side out on front and long side out in back, and they are roughly appropriate.

They run the same wheels on 2wd and 4wd, so they should be close enough to look good.

Hi, I did hear back from Hutchinson after I contacted them directly. We only need a total of 25 wheels. I would take 10 or 15 as I don't consider it much of a gamble. So there is a minimum of 10 more needed - which is obviously 2 sets of 5. You can contact we directly at aketernalenergy@gmail.com if you want a set.

thanks

Andy
Hi Andy, Yes, 5 sets of 5 wheels to get that price. 25 wheels total - though I'm not sure if they can ship to each person. Did you happen to ask if they can drop-ship to each person in on the 25 wheel order?

I'm in for 5 wheels. It seems from talking with Craig that the beadlock inserts are mandatory & that adds ~$400 for a set of 5 wheels. Out of curiosity, anyone know what would happen if beadlocks are not run with these wheels?

What tires are you all considering to run with these?

It sounded like they were willing to ship separately, if not we can address that too, We have enough people lined up, so we want to get the order rolling next week.

so send me your email at aketernalenergy@gmail.com and I will copy you on the order form too - thanks for figuring this out!

I am leaning towards lighter one ton truck tires myself. trying to decide on size versus mileage,

I have looked at all the unimog tires, etc. But I also want to figure out the cost to change axle ratios for long distance runs as a camper tow vehicle....

i would prefer a 40" or sub 40" tire. But smarter people than me with more experience stated that the 4wd units could have lower rear end ratios than I was aware, and need the 43" plus tires to get highway speeds down into better fuel mileage rpm.

But I know i want 20's regardless instead of 19.5's - so I am ordering the rims, I have 10 to 14 weeks to figure out the tire sizes, lol...

THX,

Andy

Gentlemen, I have unintentionally misled everyone. The group buy is dead, Hutchinson wanted 1150 PER WHEEL.

I had conflicting information, But Pat @ CLP emailed direct and confirmed - it is $1150 per wheel, I am very sorry for the confusion:

But, I am going to contact stazworks and the other manufacturer (i don't recall who, i have to dig through my emails), along with a different custom wheel manufacturer I started talking with.

Just to see if I did arrange a group buy for 25 wheels if we can get better pricing.

BUT, I apologize that I was completely mistaken about this.

sigh - Sorry..?

Andy & Pat - thank you for following up & correcting my mistake. I'm sorry to everyone for any confusion I created - I was mistaken from my discussion with Craig. I just confirmed with him, and the group order would cost $1100 per wheel, and $450 per beadlock. Thinking about it in hindsight, I guess those numbers before were too good to be true.

That being said - shipping could go to multiple people on a group order. "The best way for me would be if we got the 25 wheels on as many POs as there are shipping addresses, and then I place the different orders separately. The thing is, I’d just need them sent to me at one time to ensure we have the volume necessary. The last caveat here is we would just need 50% up front to place the order and the remainder due prior to shipment."

Unfortunately these Hutchinson wheels are over my budget. Any other wheel supplier ideas for a budget build? Stazworks seems pretty backed-up on orders.

I checked with Long's wheel & rim in Florida. They make agricultural tractor wheels, and wheels for offroad fire/brush trucks. They can make a 20x11" one-piece steel wheel with this bolt pattern & custom offset for ~760 per wheel primed and painted. Said they can't guarantee there will be no vibration at highway speed, but when specified for a road-vehicle, they tighten up the build to reduce that possibility.

I'd like to ad my experience. Been looking for 14's also for a long time. They made these with 0 offset and negative offset. I did locate 4 0 offset, but they won't work. I started researching 12.25x22.5 and not really liking how the front will be 2" wider than the rear when you mount them with the deep side in on the rear and the shollow side out on the front. But I was able to find 8 full sets of these. After mounting them up and installing them, I think they look awesome and with the Monroe box on the back, I don't think you can even notice the difference in tracking. Where did you get these wheels? been trying to find a set like this.

I cannot believe it took this long - but here is what i needed up doing - 22.5's milled to 22, very careful engineering and custom made billet adapters and 2 part wheels in front - but off the shelf super singles cut to 22 in back. kept it unlifted, reduced air pressure in yokohama x-mt's 38x13.50r22 in front 38 x15.50r22 in back minor trimming in front, will add spacer on rear to fill out the wheel well a little better next, just finished shortening frame and adding truck bed.

Good idea. Looks pretty cool, thanks for sharing! Did the adapter increase overall width? Those front wheels are 12.25" wide alcoa?
