When you need more room underneath and you don't like jack stands.

That is cool

This is one reason I went with a lifted K20, plenty of room under there without having to get jacks out. :p:

But those thing Paddy posted would be handy to work under my TDI's
But they are about $260 a pair from what I could find on the net.

Heck I'd love to have a piece of concrete to work on never mind a garage.
It beats rolling around on pieces of card board in the dirt.

Pebbles in the dirt get sharper. Upgrade from cardboard to a big sheet of plywood or lay down a 'crete pad. Maybe next year

A 'crete pad would be a huge upgrade, but like you say maybe next year.

I couldnt resist the temptation to 鈥榦ne-up鈥 on this thread ;)

It pays to have friends with nice toys! 12k per tower is the rating I think?

Its a bit of a drive for you but im sure if you show up and ask, he鈥檇 let you! Made in france I think. They are made to lift high speed trains in europe originally. Link them all together and push the button on the master and up it goes! Its on a screw and it has brakes so you can stop anywhere and it holds. Solid as a rock too. Better than any lift Ive ever used!
