2003 2500HD Duramax,6 speed transmission: sometimes it won't shift in to or out of gear while engine is running. Engine off everything ok. When this happens while engine is running, tranny in gear, clutch depressed, truck won't roll down hill. last time it happened doubled pumped clutch pedal with engine off, then everything started working fine agian. any sugggestion on what it could be?:help2:

sounds like maybe another junk DMF. Doyou have any other symptoms like a hard peddle or rattle sound comming from the trans?

It sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging!!! Could be a DMF problem.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.

I agree with MaxRock, clutch not disengaging either from weak slave cylinder or messed up pressure plate both caused by vibrating (junk) DMF. I've had both

The correct amount of pressure is not being applied to the pressure plate to engauge the clutch. I would recommend checking you fluid levels as bleeding the hydraulic system. If neither of these work I would suspect your slave is weak and will need to be replaced soon.
