I did my first fuel filter change today and when i went put the new filter back on, it's a WIX and the center rubber ring wouln't push up for nothing. I tried a few more times and even tried to put the rubber piece on first but that doesn't work either. So i took the piece off and it went on fine, and as far as i can see it's not leaking so has anyone else had problems with a WIX or is it just me?

The reason you had this problem is that the rubber ring from the filter you took off stayed on the filter base pipe...

So can i just leave it the way it is right now? I felt around on there, and did feel a rubber piece and that thing is on there good.Could i just wait and try to take it off next filter change? Will it hurt to just stay on there?
