Over the years I have had many 7.3 trucks, (6) 12v cummins trucks, (1) 24v cummins and (2) 7.3 Powerstroke trucks.
So, now I am looking at a 2003 Chevy 3500 4wd dually 4 door Duramax auto and have a couple of questions:
1-what is an average for empty MPG?
2-Is this a better or worse year compared to other D'max engine years? (Anything bad or good compared to other years?)
3-I don't see many of the Duramax models with a lot of miles on them, any reason? Does anyone here have one with a lot of miles?
4-I drive about 100k a year. I have 265k on my ford now, 710k on my last Dodge, have these trucks been as reliable under load daily?

Sorry to ask all this, I just found this truck, and want to get info before its sold.

Thanks for your help...now talk me into it...!:D

Well, you have my condolences for being on the other side for so long.Welcome--almost I guess.OK now--for me--I'm on my third Dmax now--all have been great--app.150,000 miles for all. Had new injectors once after 40,000 miles on my LB7 and the wire rub deal on the LLY.Love each truck more than the earlier one.Smoothness,quietness,power--it's all there. If you want to see bigger #s,do a search--I know I've seen some impressive figures.Good luck.
