the wheels are second to none. I almost went with th chromed H2s as most folks seem to like them . I got to see the renegades in person right next to the chrome H2 (what luck) and the renegades, for me, are hands down the best looking ! No offense to H2 wheel owners but the renegades are awesome ! very light and great quality, I especially like the look of the caps on them too. When I get around to it I will post some pics. Ordered tires from Mike (VFRRider), thanks mike, and they should be here next week.
I highly suggest the evo series from weld. strong, light and one of the truest wheels around with a 3500 lb load rating.
Tim, $700 on ebay for $1600+ wheels...............
Blems for NY. I can barely tell, some "dust" looking areas under the chrome can only be seen from a foot away.Edited by: ski1
thanks for the pics, great lookin truck. What would you say the difference is with the lugs ? I was hopign to mount them this week, but may have to wait if the lug nuts don't work. May call weld tomorrow. Hopefully they will look as good on my truck.
My guess is the lug seat may be different ... I.e. angle, perhaps thread depth, I may be wrong. The reason I'm guessing they are different is I don't think the shop where I had the lift, tires and wheels installed would have had me buy Weld lugs just to have Weld lugs...IIRC, the weld lugs are not cheap and I was looking for ways to save money ...I'm really good friends with the guy I worked with and I would hope he didn't have me buy weld lugs if they were not needed. I would have probably bought the weld lugs anyways as it was easier to sell my OEM wheels/lugs as a package.
I was also looking at the renegades on ebay but they are not listed anymore. Can you give me the name of the place where you got them. Maybe he can get more. I am also interested in pics. I had the same idea and I also have the same truck. 03 GMC CC SB D/A.
Thanks. I will contact them on Monday. What size tires are you going with? I have not found very many options in 17 inch. Pro Comp 33x12.50x17, BFG 285/70/17 and 315/70/17 which will be to big without lifting the truck. I think in a perfect world someone would make a 295/70/17.
i went with the h2 tires, 315/70. I was originally planning on trimming or moving the front bumper like several other members here have, but I purchased a road armor bumper a few months back. With this bumper, I could probably run 35's or 36's easily it if weren't for the close fitting in the rear of the front wheel well. My goal was not very large tires, but a little larger contact patch on the road, some added clearance and of course the look it gives to the truck.
Let me know if you need anythink else. I also liked the look of the 285/70/17 without modifying anything.
