Mobil makes Delvac...

 

I probably should clarify the question better-

I was told that it was either:

Mobil Delvac 1300

or

GM Diesel Motor Oil (posted rating of CI-4 (can't remember if plus or not).)

 

Why one can't get a good answer on what a dealership puts in a vehicle, I'll never know. When I asked what 15W40 oil was used, I was told Mobil. When I get there and asked the same question, then I get told that they may have put in Delvac 1300 OR GM diesel motor oil.

Who makes the GM product? Anyone know? It is 15W40, CI-4 spec.

If it's going in an LMM it better be CJ-4 spec.

 

I was told it was Mobil. They make all GM 'S oil. By the way soon it will all be cj-4 (low sulfer/ash oil). Diesel power says it's much better oil with less sludge and part wear.

 

If there are 3 stars on the bottom of the bottle it is a Mobil product IIRC or that may be just for an ESSO/Imperial Oil product.
