I pull a 40 foot 5th wheel with 3200lb pin weight. The Truck usually has firewood, 40gallon fuel tank etc. in addition to trailer. This is placing my current tires at the edge of the load rating (315/75R16 at about 3300lbs). I also lower the tire pressure to pull the rig deep into the sand dunes.

I have thought of adding duals that would handle the load on the road and still float in the sand, but I also drive this truck in town with many parking problems as is. Parking with duals would be a nightmare.

Does anyone have a recommendation of wheel and tire size that would handle the load and still be soft enough to float in the sand without going dual. Possibly larger wheels 19.5 or 22.5 with tires not exceeding 35 inches tall. My concern with large wheels is deflating to create a large soft footprint in the sand.

the problem your going to run into is if you goto a 19.5 and run commercial tires and are above e load the sidewall is so thick you wont be able to air down. my gf's dad has 19.5 singles on 245/70/19.5s and still has sidewall but are h loads i beleive, could be wrong but they are thick as can be and wouldnt air down well.

since your lifted and running 35s id suggest the toyo muds they are good for 3860. other than that all i can suggest is do some research on other brands in a 35 for the highest load.
