New guy here. I'm Mike from Oak Creek, WI. I live about 15min away from Milwaukee. Right now I have numerous vehicles. My daily driver/hauler is a 2006 Silverado 1500 LT 4x4. She's got a 5.3 liter and an auto. Decent truck. My fuel mileage beast is a 95 Escort shaggin wagon. It's a real beast. I also got a 2007 Saturn Aura for my mother for christmas. if anyone is lookin to get their significant other a new car, consider one of those. The one I got is fully loaded with dual power seats, heated leather, 6 disc changer, onstar, xm, the works. and its got some snot under the hood. 252hp on a 3.6 DOHC, with a 6 speed tiptronic. I also got an 06 Polaris Sportsman quad, she gits the job done. I also got an 87 Honda Accord which is a 4 cylinder stock car. I compete in a travelling endurance series. and last but not least is my latest and greatest, the project. It's a 2001 Silverado 2500 LT 4x4. Its an extended cab with the 8ft box. She started life as a duramax, which my buddy owned at the time. He was doin some stupid offroadin, and sucked in some water and hydrolocked the engine. He didn't want to deal with it so he sold it to me as is for cheap. I yanked out the duramax, and dropped in a 2002 cummins 24 valve i got from my neighbor. I also swapped out the IFS for a rockwell solid axel, and did a 5 speed manual swap. there's a few goodies strapped under the hood, but im keepin details to a minimum for now, at least till I get it fully on the road and ready to rock. Anyway, sorry for typin you guys a novel here, just figured id properly introduce myself. I can't wait to dig into some of the sweet info you guys got on this site!

hey I am in no way against the d-max, but I was able to pick this cummins up complete with wiring harness and computer for $1,000. cant go wrong. I tore it down, did rings, gaskets, and upgraded the pistons, rods, and bottom end. all in all it was cheaper then buying a crate d-max. plus im a little bit more familiar with modding a cummins.

I wasnt meaning to say that you were. I like the cummings as well, just not the 06 and newer ones. I've been thinking about putting one into a 79 Ford F150 that I have sitting here with a blown 351M in it. If I could get a deal like you got I'd probably go for it.

Welcome to the club. I'm happy to hear the great feedback on your moms Saturn Aura. It just so happens I work at the GM plant that builds them.

We had two problems to date. The 3 or 4 clips that are on the roofliner at the back window were not installed from the factory for whatever reason, and the ambient lighting on the interior driver side door handle stopped working, needed a new wiring harness. Other then that its a great car. We bought the fully loaded XR model. Its sweet.

As far as the truck, something isn't quite right with it. Cylinder number 6 is misfiring. Could be bad injector. Could be with the new fuel system I put on, not sure. Still a lot of bugs to work out.
