Had my truck in for the last time before my 36K is up ... This is the third time it was in IIRC... First time was oil leak and E-brake and axle seals ....Second time was for fuel rail pressure leak and E-brake ...

Problems I had corrected this final time were ....

Seat rip leather where the seat belt rubs ... Not corrected going to upholstery shop next week ...

Block heater took a dumper .. No rush but I thought I'd throw it in .. It was just the cord ...

E-brake SUCKS ... Gents don't give up ... After three years I HAVE A E-BRAKE ... Man I'm gonna snap the cable ,I'm so use to jamming it to the floor ... It only goes approx half way to the floor and holds ROCK solid ,man I'm pleased with that ...Get this ,all they did was adjust ...

Clicking U-joints ...Well I thought I could get some free ones ,shame on me ... Get this :

Clicking is normal for Aluminum drive shafts, interesting ...

I was told mine are clicking do to extra shift modules I have, far out ...

Dam ,busted ...

What would you say ??

I said NAFT like I didn't hear him ...

Here's my thinking they drove this truck ten miles to test block heater and E-brake ...
I think they took turns as I did receive a few comments on the truck ...

I think the tech thought I had a six speed or a over ,overdrive when he felt the Suncoast triple disk lock up ...

Either that or the way it was snapping the shifts off he knew sumtin was up ... It was my bad as I took the box off and drove only 5 miles to drop it off and the majority was highway,Oh well ...

Needless to say this truck rocks and I remain confident the 01 Duramax is a rock solid truck ... My 36K is Prolly most 72K for the average Joe ...

What a truck, luv'in it and smiling three years later ...

Mac

On Edit: I will add you know they looked under this truck ... Cat filter and lift pump were on truck, not a peep ...

This is no way missed ,big and yellow and beautiful what and hell is all that plumbing ... <IMG onMouseOver="this.style.cursor='hand'" onMouseOut="this.style.cursor=''" alt='Click on image to

Entertaining post as usual Mac but give it up on the E brake.

Mine still sucks so whats the skinny on how to adjust properly?

Is this a dealer only mystery or?

I'm tired of having the truck settle on the pawl instead of the darn brake doin its job!

Glad your still happy I know I love my truck and I'll NEVER go back to a gasser!

The dealer should be able to adjust the brake ,don't take the fact they tell you it's weak ... I was assertive and complained about the lack of ....Believe it or not I never got pissy or arogent but I was getting close ... I continually offered up the fact I have driven and been in MANY trucks only to find a well working E-Brake We ALL have the same system, what gives ???

I even had to discuss that issue too ....

Needless to say third time was the charm .... I'm a stickler to things working right when I know they can ... When you finally get it corrected you will be pleased ...

I wish I could tell you how to do it but since I was under warranty I keep clean hands ....I do believe the Helms manual shows a clear description of the adjustment procedure ...

Good luck ...

I'm not paying .... The tear is right where the seatbelt comes out of the seat (lower portion)on the driverside ....

I'll give (fax)you a copy of my service ticket when I get it if necessary so you can show your dealer to force your hand ...

You'll get the service order for that matter we could get the GMSID to run my Vin if there is a delay ...

Wear and tear ?? I could see if your seats were all dirty and your truck was filthy and looked like it was worked to death .... Mine is clean enough to eat off of not that I would ...I wasn't complaining about cracks in the leather it's a rip, showing the foam ...

Therefore during the 3 year 36 there is no such thing as wear and tear ,pun intended, unless it's a flat tire worn tire not do to a front end problem or stone chip or brakes unless shot because of a fault caliper or seal or fluid xchanges ...

I'll see if I can get a PIC up too ...E-brake still good and strong ...

Suncoast Warranty:

Our warranty covers anything that is related to driver rearward motion.( Mac, that means going back against the seat like in G-force) Sounds to me like your seat ripped cause your body went forward and put unecessary stress on the restrainer belt. I think if you would stop playing with your new found Ebrake the tears might subside.
Boy am i gona pay for this one.
I'm a man, I can take it.

So far my E-brake has been the best I have ever had. I push it just past where it feels firm and it holds rock solid even with a trailer hooked up. I really only use it when parked on a grade though. --SS

I don't ever remember using the e-brake in 72,000 miles. As far as I'm concerned, nobody makes a decent e-brake.

Now if you have stick.... that is a real concern.

Appointment is set on the seat repair ,confirmed leather is in ,hope it matches ...How or why GM can pay to repair as oppose to a new cover is beyond me ...

I have always used my E-brake guess it's a habit ... If you don't use it keeping the cable free the day you need it it will be useless ... When parked on a grade the big drive train "clunk " releasing the paw drives me nuts ...

I got the wifey trained too ...

It's designed to work like blinkers some chose not to use them either ...

I'm pleased with the holding capabilities now 3-4" travel it's on ...

I'm just telling you guys cause I know a few of you also have a problem and my dealer told me two times it passes ...

I said nope each time ,but now it does ...

My e-brake has worked great from day one. Use it everyday to keep it free like Mac said. Holds on hills, with trailer, during trailer loading, etc. No complaints here.

Isolated incidents of e-brake issues are normal. Can't expect everything perfect when shipping 1.8 million units per year.

Before ....

After

They changed the top panel also ... Has to wear in abit ....

Seat outward frame was cracked and needed to be welded and a reinforcing piece of steel was welded in .... Owner said it was the second one this week alone and it is common occurrence ...I am by no means a big guy either ...

The seat is wimpy to say the least ...

In addition he added a 1/2 additional foam and reinforcing webbing to the springs ... This eliminated the sag that was occurring ...What a deal seat is better then new and more comfortable then new ...

I got the deluxe rebuild do to I was able to bring truck to the shop myself ...

CZ Upholstery did a great job in Southington CT ... If you guys in CT are looking for Upholstery boats ,bikes ,auto, the did a nice job and friendly people with out a doubt ...
