Hello,


I am looking for a used duramax 4x4 with the allison. I have not found too many near me and the ones I have found have been beat pretty good. I have a few friends in the auto business looking for me and my question is, what problem areas should I look for when looking at a used d/a? I have owned 2 psd trucks and can look them over in 2 minutes and see any problem areas, but I don't know much about these trucks. Thanks in advance for any tips or advice.

Thanks for the info so far, keep it coming. What changes were made throughout the 01 model year? I was looking at 01's because of price. My friend had a 01 that was a great truck, it did not have an aluminum driveshaft I don't believe. Since I will be looking at 01's, what should I be looking for that could be wrong? Thanks a lot,
