I've got some leftover parts from my parts truck after the rebuild and I need to know some reasonable prices so I can off-load them. Main things I would like to get rid of for the moment are:

1)Pair of C-code heads off an 86
Engine was a runner when they were pulled but there is no way to be certain there isn't any cracking around the valve seats without getting them fluxed.
2)Crankshaft from the same engine
3)6.2 radiator looks fairly new
4)Hood
5)GM 14-bolt rear-end

Is that 14 bolt a full floater or a semi-floater?

What kind of shape is the crank in? Although it doesn't matter as much as it used to with the new weld-up/grind down crank work they can do now...

I don't know how much the heads are worth... Haven't been watching prices on those lately. I know that a good set is worth a good deal of money (but you probably already know that since it sounds like you bought a set ):h ).

The hood is probably worth about $75. Of course, I suppose it depends on your location... If stuff is rusty where you are it is probably worth more. Here a good rust free hood can go for as much as $150. As a sidenote, I finally found a good hood for my truck and installed it last weekend... Found it at a junkyard and paid $25 for it. :D

The radiator is worth a some money... A new Chinese one goes for about $250 and a U.S. one brings about $400. Since it sounds like yours is pretty new, it is probably worth about $100. Then again, I suppose it all depends on whether or not it has a tranny cooler for the automatic or not and if it is three row or four row...

The 14 bolt will be a semi-floater as its out of an 86. The crank looks to be in good shape. I couldn't see any cracking or anything like that anyways. The rad doesn't have the tranny cooler as the truck had an SM465. It does of course have the built in oil-cooler.

Congrats on finding a hood for a good price. I know in some of the rust-belts like your area finding good body panels is almost impossible.

Nobody else has anything to chime in for reasonable prices?

Around here you can get 14 bolt full-floaters for $100. Semi-floaters get about the same, but you've gotta find someone that wants it. Usually that would be someone looking to run 6-lug wheels (is it 6-lug?).

A great-condition hood is worth $100, tops, but I live in the desert southwest and they're easy to come by.

Your radiator is probably worth $200.

I don't know about the crank/heads. I've heard that the heads get some $$$, but those are in verifiably good condition (fresh rework and checking done). You'd probably have to have the magnaflux report on the crank to sell it for an appreciable amount.

Oh, and all prices are quoted in USD, not loonies :D

rokit. Thanks for the heads up. The 14 bolt is 8 lug as it's from a 3/4 tonne. I didn't know you could get a 14 bolt in a six lug. I thought all the six lugs were either Dana 44's or corporate 10 bolts. I think I might buck up and get the heads and crank fluxed. The difference in the value is probably going to be worthwhile.

Yeah, it's ONLY the semi-floaters that came in 6-lug. That has created a small niche market for them - guys who want 6-lug rims, but stronger than a 10- or 12-bolt.

May as well get the crank polished, too. It doesn't cost that much, and there's certainly a buyer for a polished and fluxed 6.2 crank.

I traded the last 8 lug 14 bolt axle I had for a good used left front fender (the guy wanted $65 for it but I offered to trade him the axle and he took it without hesitation)...

Yeah, it might be worth getting the heads and crank checked out. They are worth some money if they are known good...

I've got the fenders covered actually. The front fenders and doors I pulled of of the parts truck are rust and dent free. I'll have them hung on my truck when I have the funds to get the rockers and cab-corners done. I'll actually have zero body rust after that because the bedsides were done last year.

Yep, I was mainly just mentioning it as a price reference. Must be nice knowing you are that close to having the truck free of rust, though... I've got a bit of work to do before I get to that point, but I'm working on it.

Thats not correct.
There are 8 lug semi-floating 14 bolts.
Early to mid 80's.

As for 6.2 prices, I guess its location.
I have 5 or 6 of the 6.2's that im gonna scrap, nobody wants them.

What I said IS correct. Only semi-floaters came in 6-lug. Yes, they also came in 8-lug.

What I wrote: only the semi-floaters came in 6-lug
What you read: the semi-floaters only came in 6-lug

There's a difference.

Full floaters ONLY came with 8-lug.
