Ok,

I have searched alot and no definitive answers..

First off - I just purchased Denali Projectors.

I AM trying the HIDS in them.. I have heard both good and bad stories.. I am willing to try.

Which brand should I use in the Denali Housing?

I also would like to know what color/temp the Cadillac Escalade HIDS are?

I posted in a prior thread and someone said 6000K.. just trying to get more than one opinion!

Which brand is confirmed fitting in the housing or is any 9005 Conversion going to work?

get the 6000K. it has a tint of blue but is still bright.

BMW's are 6000K and the 4300K do not have a tint of blue.

are you sure? Im 99% sure DOT standards dictate a maximum color temp of 4300* kelvin to keep from blinding other drivers. 4300k does have a tint of blue. Also, percieved color by human eyes can be HUGELY affected by the reflector and lens design of the HID headlight housing Specifically Acura's and BMW's and Audi's have projector housings that vary the distribution of light wavelengths, thus looking more "blue". Many of them use "bi-xenon" headlights, which also gives the impression of more blue, even tho they are 4300k. Also, 4300k is the closest to "true white" that you can get (4300k is roughly equivilant to sunlight). Contary to popular beleif, the higher the color temp the LOWER the light output. People may say "oh ive got 8000k HID's and I can see everything", but thats only percieved vision...your eyes are fooling you. It is a scientifical fact that ~4300k provides the most effective illumination...

granted, my HID's are 5000k because they were sold out of the 4300k. I wouldnt want to go any higher tho.

so...

what do I do?

I want them to look like the Escalade style HIDS...

They do have a hint of blue to them..

I want them for function but I want them to look good too!!!!;)

So should I go 6000k?

I know that my 4300K HID's in my R6 with projectors show no blue what so ever. it is just a pure white light (thats what i wanted, i didnt want people knowing i have hid"s). And i am almost positive BMW's are 6000K

If you want them to look like an Escalade, get 4300k.



I am 99.8% sure BMW's use 4300k, just like every other OEM out there. Perceived color of the headlights means nothing.
