I'd like to know the difference between the OEM fuel filter and the filter (660R) that comes in the secondary kit.

Why not use the same filter both places so you don't have to stock both kinds. Is the 660R a better/larger capacity filter?

If so why isn't it used in the OEM location?

I just hate to have two different filters on the shelf. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I see, so why isn't the OEM used as a secondary? Is the 660R better, and what is the Racor part# for the OEM.

Thanks

Just heard from Oregon Fuel Injection about Racor filters for the LLY. Those are not available from Racor yet, but the LB7 filter will fit the LLY, it's just 3/4" shorter.

They said the filter part number for the '01-'03 Duramax, and I'm assuming the '04 LB7, is a 4598 for the OEM. It was a message on my machine and he said something I believe was "INF 4598" was the number. But I'm not familiar with Racor numbers so I don't know about the "INF" part, but the 4598 is correct.
