Ok guys, I bought a front diff that looks brand new. Now, at the time I did know that it came from a 2500, but a gas burner. I did not know that gas burners had a 4.10 ratio option. And quess what, thats what this one is. And mine is 373. Know heres what I'd like some feed back on, should I take the gears out of my front diff and put in new one, or buy new gears for rearend. Its gonna cost around 400 to do the rearend and that includes labor. I run 33in baja claws and do some pulling. Mostly 4wheelers on 16 foot trailer or medium size boat. I dont think there could be that much diference between the ratios. I bought this front end for 200.00. And the one in my truck has 165000 miles on it, and driver side shaft has alot of slack. Any feedback would be great, or someone that has done this gear swap. What about fuel milage also. And my truck is 02 duramax. Thanks alot

Definetly change the rear gears, these front diffs are a pain to set up so i would let it be and go with the 4.10's in the rear. The gear difference is minor but if you ever go to a larger tire like 35's or 36's you wont have to regear it.

Switch the rear. If you pick up a used set of gears like the front, make sure the 4.10 rear you buy is from an 8.1L.
