I have been looking at these trucks. There small but get great milage and thats about all I know about them. Does anybody here own one or know anything about them? Are they good trucks , or do they have alot of problems ? Would anyone recomend one. I would use it as my daily driver with no or very little hauling.

My Uncle had one when I was working for his housemoving company... I hit a moose with it at 45 mph in 1988. No Joke. It ended that truck right then, so I don't have any experience with longevity. Great mileage, but you just have to get used to 0-50 times in the high 5 minute category (I don't think I ever got 60 out of it) As well as living with the fact that everything from a Subaru Justy or Geo Metro on up will win a traffic accident against it...

I hope your uncle is ok I know the moose is. I think the only problem with the truck is that I'll feel like a jack*** driving it. If I get over my fear of tight places and everyone laughing at me it would be a great truck.

A VW truck? A Chevy Luv?

Have I hit a time warp? I have not seen either in years.

I guess there is a + side to living the rust belt.

I had a friend in high school that had a VW truck. He put a bunch of GTI stuff on it. It was kind of cool.

Cool, you see the wildest stuff in S Cal. I love the old 50's style school buses some cities are still using.

Back east the only thing you see that is 30 years old + (and is in good shape) are collectables.

Seems like whenever I am out there I see at least one clean, straight, stock daily driver Maverick. It is like a walk down memory lane.
