I test drove an '06 LBZ this weekend at a dealer, truck is bone stock, truck was running when I got there & the sales guy said he had to go air up a tire so he drove it around back. First thing I noticed when he pulled away was a vibration like exhaust noise from off idle to probably 1000 - 1500 rpm, then it went away, even my wife heard it and commented immediately if that was normal. When he brought it back that was the first place I went to, doors open feather the accelerator off idle, vibration noise from exhaust to about 1200 rpm.
Anyone heard of this? Just want to make sure it isn't a major before I consider buying, give me your thoughts.

I had something similar in my LLY. When I was idling forward under some conditions it would buzz for a second or two. I usually noticed when I was waiting for the garage door to open and rolling forward in the driveway. It didn't happen all the time, but sometimes if the RPM was right.

I am not sure if it is the same as yours, however mine went away when I removed the catalytic converter and replaced it with a LB7 front pipe. I am not sure the cat had anything to do with it but it could be the band clamp or the flange at the back of the cat is lose. I would check those and ensure they are tight.

on my LBZ, one of the bolts rattled out of the heat shield for the turbo. The heat shield started to rattle terribly, like a resonance, at off-idle throttle position, like parking lot speed. It was very annoying but luckily an easy fix for me. There are several heat shields on a dmax engine, so this is just a general suggestion.

I've battled the same on my LBZ for a few years. It's because the t-clamp on the exhaust to downpipe joint doesn't tighten enough. Annoying at times, for sure.

My rattle was the metal tranny lines that run under the engine. Came off their mounts. Would also rattle when shifting under a very light load. Drove me crazy.

I still have several in the dash area, the heat shield that surrounds the large connector at the passenger side of the transmission one of the straps was cracked, took care of that one two more to go...
