I'm the one with the HX40 turbo in the video link and will post the install process and turbo specs if there is any interest.

Also is out flange a T3?
Yes it is .

It's a custom hx40 with the biggest compressor wheel available to my knowledge.

I would be interested. I couldn't really read the gauges or the screen, are you monitoring intake air temps?

how about some pics of that turbo on the 6.5? Also, why did you opt for the hx40 and not the more commonly used hx35? and wanted to know how boost is controlled and what is max psi you run? Thank you

These are pics of the turbo mocked up on the manifold.

To install this turbo you will need to trim 1/2'' off the turbo and 1/4'' off the GM upper intake. I know in the pics it's close but what you see in the pics are not the measurements above. There will be enough room for expansion if you follow those measurements.

You will also have to make a 1/2'' spacer to put between the upper and lower manifold. Unless you would prefer to cut the upper futher back and use silicone hose to make up the height difference.

The oil feed line will need to be tapped for the GM oil feed line fitting, and the oil return requires no mods at all, it's a direct bolt up.

I can only type so fast, and wait for pics to upload. I'm trying .

To answer your ? This turbo was chosen because the others you mentioned were to small for me and the towing I will be doing.

The wastegate is controlled by boost not vacumn and I have it set at 20lbs.

These pics show the only labor intensive part off the install

I used a 3 1/2'' elbow and cut it and modded it then welded it together along with a Vband clamp adapter to the turbo exh. housing side of the elbow, and welded a bung on the bottom of the elbow to clamp to my Diamond eye D/P so i wouldn't have to modify the D/P.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things as I'm trying to get this up quick so you can get an idea of this install.

If anyone has any ?, i will be happy to share any part of this mod.

Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing!

How is the engine managing the 20PSI of boost? Typical wisdom on the 6.5 is 15PSI before blowing headgaskets and such.

The optimizer dosen't seem to mind it, I've run short bursts to 24/25 but a steady diet of 20lbs. seems alright. I've put 20 thou on it running that boost.Even with the old GM8 that was on there before this one.

I also have the program tuned for that kind of boost; timing and fuel curves manipulated pretty well.

Thanks for noticing, it is interesting and i will keep everyone updated about the good the bad and the ugly.
