Hello guys.
I have a 93 2500 2wd regular cab long bed. 6.5 turbo diesel,DB2, Water injection, 2.5 inch crossover, 4 inch exhaust, nv4500, g80 3.73, 30 inch tires. I want to use my 12000 gvw trailer. Towing between 6 and 10 thousand pounds comfortably 65- 70 mph on the interstate.
Also towing my 2500 pound flats boat to the keys with good fuel mileage.
I am at sea level in Naples fl. All flat ground.
I do all my own wrenching.
I am leaning toward the Hx35 after reading you guys post.
Thankyou in advance.

Welcome to DieselPlace

Economically, you could throw on a GM8 Turbo and call it good. The GM8 would pair nicely with the DB2

I agree. I started to order a new GM8 and add a wicked wheel.
But after reading. I'm afraid it will not work well enough if I'm towing 10'000 lbs at 70mph on the interstate.
Maybe drive pressure will be too high? Just trying to get this right. Thanks again.

With the manual trans and mechanical pump, you want a turbo that spools quickly. The GM8 certainly fits that bill, but is not much of an upgrade over what you have now. I like your HX35 idea better.
