I was thinking about getting the MBRP Turbo-Back Exhaust and was wondering if that eliminates my Cat? If so, do I need an EGR blocker and finger stick? I read on another post that you can simply eliminate the codes by using the predator and programming the ECM to ignore them, is this true?

Thanks

I guess the question is do you use the predator to clear the codes every time they come up or does it actually prevent the ECM from throwing the codes in the first place?

I personally never used a finger and blocker. My 04.5 LLY ran just fine with them. I'm not getting them for my LBZ either. They do pretty much go hand and hand though, so its up to you.

The predator is supposed to prevent the computer from throwing them in the first place as well as clearing the PCM from any codes.

You could either go with a cat back or turbo back system. You could go with a turbo back system that eliminates the cat or you could keep it, the choice is yours.

MBRP is a nice sounding system. This is also what I had on my LLY. I switched from Magnaflow afer a couple years due to too much drone. The MBRP was alot more responated and had a nice throaty growl. Plus, it made the tucbo alot louder in the process. I would find myself sitting in sub zero temps to listen to the high idle kick in just so I could clearly hear the turbo spooling. Neighbors said it sounded like a jet powering up.

Personally, I prefer the Magnaflow stile tail piping. I'm not a fan of the MBRP style piping and tips. I'm on the process of buying all the pieces I need currently. Our vendors have great prices and I'm pretty sure they all price match.

Be sure to let us know how it works out for you.

MBRP has several exhaust setups, their front pipe back systems will eliminate the cat if you buy it that way. If you want or need to replace the cat ever then the front pipe back will not be the way to go. You would want to purchase the cat back system and the front pipe separate. This set up will allow you to take the cat in and out as you see fit. The Pred. may clear the Egr code, but if it does it will only be temporary, a finger and blocker is the only way to permanently remove it. Any questions please call.
