I installed the transgo jr in the transmission and just got it all back together and filled up. It will not go into gear. The DIC flashes SHIFT CHANGE INHIBITED. I have tried shifting it through park and neutral and letting it idle, but no go. I have a picture of a couple of items that did not go back in that I did not see on the install instructions. They were part of the assembly that was removed. Any help would be appreciated.

You knew these parts weren't put back in and you still finished putting it back together and expected it to work?

As stated... I thought they were part of the assembly that was being swapped out. If you can't be part of the solution don't contribute.

Take off the retainer that holds the A and B trim solenoids in place, take care that they don't fly out and drop. Be careful as the A trim solenoid is spring loaded. Using some petrolium jelly install both accumulator pistons (closed end first) into the valve body bores. Now install the springs into the pistons, again using jelly to hold them in place in the piston openings. The retainer is next, install the 3 bolts and torque to 110 inch lbs. You're fighting gravity so act quickly, it's best to use transmission assembly lube instead of the petrolium jelly is you have it.

It might be easier to do this with the valve body out but remember the closed ends of the pistons go down, the springs go in the open bodies of the pistons, the retainer goes on top against the springs.

Make sure that the little pin in the side of the manual valve fits into the linkage slot on the driver side. That has been the most popular slip up so far. gtmax is right on with his instructions.

Thanks guys!! It is nice that I do not have to pull the valve body. I should have just stopped when I was ahead. I took the day off to deal with a bunch of contractors around the house that are putting up a sweet 40X60 for me. I stopped and started on this about 10 times between 8 and 5. I remember looking at the items on the bench and just associated them with "parts that were no longer needed". I got in a hurry trying to get it back together before dark. I should have remembered what I always tell my employee's. " If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to have time to do it the second time?" I will update tomorrow after taking off the cover and doing it right the second time.

Wrong
Valves first ( hollow end up ) then springs, then top retainer plate.:D

Need to clarify one item. GTMAX says to install the accumulator piston "closed end first" into the valve body. Your post says "hollow end up". Which is it? I am sure it is obvious when doing it sinch the spring would really be smashed one way as opposed to riding inside the piston the other way. Thanks again!!
