Does anyone know where the factory trans fluid temp sensor is located? thanks -Joi

It's part of the internal transmission wiring harness on the 4L80E.

so in other words, it's not easily replaced?

Serviced only as the internal harness assembly. But if you had a donor harness, you could solder it back into yours.
The complete harness isn't hard to replace, but they're not really cheap- maybe $100 or so IIRC, but I don't know for sure now.

While doing a oil change it wouldn't be to hard, it just in the pan. As benjammin mentioned the harness is around 100$ but the stealer price is around 500$.
