My question to everyone (and i have read just about every thread on this site) is once the allison 1000 on a 2005 duramax has limped is going to be a lot easier for it to limp again. I have a 2004 with the banks big hoss bundle which i like alot for a starter, But i just purchase another 2005 duramax lifted 8 in. with 37 in tires and it had a banks six gun tuner. the problem is it was limping real bad when i got it so i took off the six gun and was going to try something different a edge with attitude. When i first test drove the truck it was fine and then i got on the interstate with it on level 1 which is supposedly stock setting and it limped. I unplugged it and it hasnt done it since, so that takes away the thought of a bad tranny had to be the banks.

Is the transmission going to limp as soon as i put the edge on?

Uh...I say Yes.

It sounds like running big power to those 37's has already done quite a bit of damage to the tranny.

I don't think a bad banks unit would limp the tranny... I think it's a hurt tranny.
Just my $.02
