You would have to check with your states laws..i know you can not do it in ny...and i do know that most states that do allow it the trailer that is hooked to the truck must be a gooseneck...you might be better off getting a bed over carrier for the quads..

Here to do it legally the first trailer has to be a 5th wheel.

he's in ontario.... Laws are probably different there. Very observant mike...!
g really??? is that why is says ontario under his avater...i figured the general principles reguarding using a 5th wheel as your primary trailer would hold true no matter where he was....those canadians are not as silly as they sound:d j/k guys....now if he were in say mexico...all bets are off...they do some pretty crazy chit there...

Hey another local Ontario D-Maxer

Quite common to see bumper pull TT's with a trailer full of ATV's especially during the mud-run season. No one really bothers them. In all cases The hitch must be attached to the frame of the lead trailer and rated (obviously). Not just uni-strapped or bubble gummed to the chit-hose tube bumper of the TT. You'd be surprised to see what some people call a hitch.

Recreational doubles must have permanently attached living quarters in the lead trailer....??

Commercial doubles, you need a commercial vehicle - and all its requirements, all the inspections, daily logs, etc., etc., and a commercial drivers license makes a big difference too.

This is the most comprehensive list I could find, www.towingworld.com/articles/TowingLaws.htm It gives you a good idea where to start when planning your trip. I have towed in many states that list no triple towing without problem. I have a 31 ft fifth wheel and tow a 5X8 trailer with two scooters or motorcycles behind it. It also shows if you can have riders in the fifth wheel.
