Is there a way to disable the tourqe restrictor/restriction system? Does it work from the engine or the transmission? Feel free to add info on how this system works. By the way, I am already out of warranty.
Thanks

No restriction system. The programming is set from the factory and is very restricting. This if for emission purposes and to keep from tearing anything up during the first 100,000 miles (warranty time).

You can add a mild tune and really "wake" the engine up. It's incredible what a moderate or hot tune can do.

Check out the power & performance section and read up about programmers.

it is torque management. it is put in place by the manufaturer to prevent max or close to it torque during a shift and initial movement from a stop. on the diesel it cuts fuel during a shift to minimize potential damage to the allison due to the high torque the dmax puts out. it can be controlled using efi live:D

If you are talking about the defueling during the shift, STACKS04 describes it above. If you want more torque or power, get a programmer. The one mentioned above (EFI Live) would be perfect for either problem.;)
