Howdy,

About the clattering associated with advanced timing to -1.5 TDC.

Kind of sounds like the old 671's on the MV Brenda B at full bore.:)

Anyway what's the effect on the engine? Seems to run cooler, does this make sense?


Any problems as a result of running this way over running -.5 TDC?

There is definitely a lot of new found power when the afterburners kick in.

Empirically, there has been a really big problem associated with the -1.5deg TDCO setting, but it's way past my bedtime, so I'll do the answer tomorrow
